Oceanian Calendar

The Oceanian calendar is not the Julian or Gregorian Calendar that we know. It is based on the solar Zodiac. The solar month of Cancer is the longest month at 32 days; Capricorn is the shortest at 29.

  • Aries: 30 days
    • 1 Aries is the Vernal Equinox and the start of the new year.
  • Taurus: 31 days
  • Gemini: 31 days
  • Cancer: 32 Days
    • 1 Cancer is the Summer Solstice
  • Leo: 31 days
  • Virgo: 31 days
  • Libra: 30 days
    • 1 Libra is the Autumnal Equinox
  • Scorpio: 30 days
  • Sagittarius: 30 days
  • Capricorn: 29 days
    • 1 Capricorn is the Winter Solstice
  • Aquarius: 30 days
  • Pisces: 30 days

Holidays in Oceania

  • New Year is celebrated on 1 Aries (equal to March 21) at the Vernal Equinox.
  • Pentalune is celebrated after the fifth Full Moon, generally around the cusp of the solar month of Leo
  • All Souls Night is celebrated on the cusp of Scorpio/Sagittarius (30 Scorpio to 1 Sagittarius) and is an all-night celebration of the spirit of life.
  • Yule celebrates the spirit of generousity and is celebrated about one week or so after Winter Solstice. Yule symbolizes the return of hope as the days begin to grow longer and lighter.
  • Harvest Moon is celebrated at the Full Moon in the month of Virgo.
  • Midsummer festival is celebrated towards the end of the month of Leo.
